One of the most well know facts about the Costa
del Sol (sol meaning sun) is its mild weather. Indeed it is very well
known for it, making the Costa del Sol an ideal destination for holiday
makers throughout summer and winter months. The coastline here is
sheltered by hills and high mountains allowing for a kind of micro
climate. This limits rainfall, and as a result the region enjoys sunshine
for in excess of 320 days per year.
The sun is at its hottest during the summer
months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F).
Whereas the typically very mild winters, boast daily highs of around
20°C (64°F). At night the low rarely falls below 10°C.
